I've a TomTom 730, thats seen better days. It doesnt hold a charge, the power cable only charges when its tied to the mount. Cant figure out if its the cable or the socket in the TT. And to boot, its never had a map update.
I'm now in a position where I'm going to start needing a reliable satnav again for long journeys, and like the idea of the traffic updates some of the newer machines offer. I feel this could make life simpler.
Ive seen a couple of different devices at good prices from garmin and tomtom offering live traffic updates, but cant find any recent comparisons between the Garmin and Tomtom live traffic services.
Anyone know what is generally seen as the best live traffic service for both accuracy of info, and reliability? _________________ TT 730

I think TomTom are still the only brand able to use "probe" location data from thousands of Vodaphone mobiles (and their own satnavs) to track road congestion in real time ('cos they patented it!)
