Hi,
I have this unit in one of my cars. Love the unit, hate the out of date inaccurate speed camera database. Since I am subscribed here (other car has a supported system) I wondered if anyone had any ideas how I could get the latest database from here onto my Pioneer?
My only option at the moment appears to be use Cameralert on my Android alongside the Pioneer and thats one too many dashtop devices. I prefer to go with built in.
Please note that I am dumb as a brick with techy stuff ie pretty old. Though I can follow idiot proof instructions!
Thanks in advance. |

Page 30 of the manual says you can add custom POI's to an SD card using the 'NavGate FEEDS' software on the PC.
I can't find any mention of being able set up warnings for POIs or if they are just for navigation but it could be worth looking into that and seeing what it offers?

I have not yet had the enthusiasm to try and convert the PGPS World CSV file to the CSV file format in Pioneer Navgate, but you can load Speed Cameras from POIbase.com/en - costs about 15.00 EUR for annual speed cams, doubt if it is anywhere as good as PGPSW database, PGPSW do not seem interested in offering a Pioneer version of their database, but it is better than nothing.
My Pioneer unit is the F310BT, you load the poi on an sd card and then insert the card in the unit to update, I have never been able to use the USB cable to update which seems an endemic problem. |

huh?! buy me one and I'll test and create a version of the database.
failing that why not tell us what the exact format needs to be??
surely my post above where i hunted out the manual, read through the whole thing to find reference to POIs and then offered advice back here is evidence that we are interested in offering a database that would work?

If it can be done, I'm sure that he will do it, just for you
[rant]But making statements like | djmathers wrote: | | ...PGPSW do not seem interested in offering a Pioneer version of their database | will possibly get up someone's nose, and make them feel less likely to help. [/rant] |
