I have a new 2340LMT and would like to install some poi files. Please can someone advise how to explain how to install so that the files show with an icon on the map screen.
Can you also advise if the new POI files can show in the main POI menu or are they always shown under the Extras menu.
Please can you also advise how to set alerts when say 200 yards away from the POI.

To get the POIs onto your device, you need the "POILoader" software.
Rather than repeat it all here, can I point you to the instructions for loading the PGPSW camera POIs? (because that goes through all the steps involved including the distance warnings).
Don't forget you can also add Voice warnings for the POIs too, if you wish (There's a link to the voice alerts for the cameras at the bottom of those instructions, but the theory is the same for any POI).
As for where they end up...
AFAIK, they used to be shown under the main POI menu, but Garmin changed their software so that "to avoid confusion" user POIs are now shown under the Extras menu. More likely it was to try to get people to use their own.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)
