I have had opportunity for the past month to run a Live 1005 (world) alongside my 950 and compare the two for HD traffic etc.
Well, to give credit where credit is due, the 1005 has yet to have HD traffic horizon less than the 950, infact it seems to have slightly longer range.
See the picture below, taken at 9.30am this morning of the two devices side by side.
You will note in the north, the 1005 has longer range - above Manchester and up to Leeds
However, I prefer the 950 as it has the itinerary, and can be backed up locally and a site more user friendly TomTom Home _________________ Mick

I think that one of us has misunderstood the navcore 3 traffic horizon. My understanding is that it does not affect the map view of traffic incidents (as demonstrated by your screenshots), but if you plot a route which passes through an incident, then the incident will not show in the sidebar or be taken into account in the ETA if it is more than 40 minutes away. _________________ Tomtom Go 1005

Seems rather unlikely to me that there were no 'incidents' north of Leeds or South of London though, so presumably TT are filtering them out, thus causing a horizon

Yes, but that is the 80/120/160km (whatever) range limit that applies to all live devices, which is a different "feature" than the navcore 3 traffic horizon feature that hides incidents in the normal driving view. _________________ Tomtom Go 1005

Actually, I don't give a toss. I don't use TT and I never travel from Norfolk (ish) to north of Leeds or south of Lonsdon (I amd a southern softy pants who lives South of London) so am a bit surprised that I even contribute to this thread. But having said that, I do like to keep a thread going that has been covered on countless occasions before.

AND this one's only up to page 7. Tell you what, why not pop over to TomTom Discussions Forum and have a go at that one - It's now over 40 pages with over 400 posts. I can't remember whether it's the second or third edition ot the topic. _________________ Dennis

You mean THIS one is only 7 pages. What about the others on PGPSW? There's three current threads at the moment Re your link: Nah, just had a look, that's boring. It only has about two posts a week. Hardly worth reviving
Is it wrong of me to keep posting "positive" messages to the TomTom forums about the poor HD Traffic range? I feel that it needs to be kept being bumped, and the moderators delete anything that is whiney, so it seems that a positive sounding message just keeps it tickling over.

It does need to be kept alive. But I don't know what good it does as they have simply stopped commenting. _________________ Dennis
