I have a VIA 120 UK edition, just updated to ver 10.501.739168.74 (0) (2042, 9/8/2011), OS 714611. Part of the update description says:
"Extended information is now available for POIs, for example addresses, phone numbers, and photos."
How do I create these extended POI files?

Very few people outside TomTom know how to do this and those that do know seem to be sworn to secrecy.
I too would be very interested in knowing how to do this but I don't think that anyone will be able to help.

What! Interesting reply... guess I will give TomTom UK support a telephone call tomorrow and see what they say.
Why publicise a feature of the update --- that consumers can't use?
I have several custom PIO files that I've created and adding some of the extended info will be very usefull for them.

| What you need is information on "Rich POI" format, not much exists and I am still not too sure whether TomTom have actually released the "Extended Makeov2" software that is needed to create the files, have a read through This Thread where there is a little bit of information on the subject - Mike |

Consumers can use the feature. TomTom do provide rich POI information for you to use. What consumers can't do is create their own rich POI sets.
