Hi all
Can I get my 720 to think that is playing music and still get the fm transmitter to transmit without music playing?

I believe a solution is to create a 30 second mp3 file which is completely silent and set it to play repeatedly in jukebox.

In fact, I wonder whether the mods can create the file (Andy_P ?? Laughing ) and attach it to a message here for others to dl and implement.

Your wish is my command... Laughing

Silence is Golden.mp3 (right click and "save as...")

Edit: Original 30 sec 44.1 stereo file replaced with 5 minute 22.05 Mono file - should make no practical difference, but means the TT will have to work less hard looping it continuously.

Many thanks NO_MAD for bringing this excellent TopTip to our attention and to dhn and Andy_P for making it happen.

Put it in a folder called mp3. There is no hth involved. Make sure the folder name is all lower case.

NO_MAD, my mp3 folder is is on my internal Root memory and works as it should. You can also put the mp3 folder on your SD card and your 720 should detect this also.

Just to confirm :-

Create a FOLDER called mp3. Place it onto either your SD card or INTERNAL root memory.

Drag and Drop "Silence is Golden. mp3" into folder mp3.

Select "Silence Is Golden" from - Music & Media - TomTom Player. on the TT menu options. Set it to repeat.

You should now be listening to Nothing!

Just a reminder, this will only work with v8.350 software and ONLY on the x20 and x30 models (the ones that originally could put nav instructions on FM).
Unfortunately TT have not enabled it on the 940 as that has never been able to do it in the past. Hopefully they will soon!
