Hmmm....I'm a bit confused. It doesn't make sense that some people are able to download map corrections to the V810 UK&ROI map whlile others are not. Is TomTom only testing their service for a while and then shutting it down?  |

 NO MAP CORRECTIONS STILL!!! What are TT doing? v8.10 UK & Western Europe map that some peeps seem to be getting updates on!!

There was now map corrections. downloading.
Now I have
- 7,3 MB (80411) MapShare map corrections on the WE 8.10.
- 1,8 MB (1033) MapShare map corrections on the EE 7.10.
- None MapShare map corrections on the CA 7.10.

2.2Mb of MapShare corrections for UK&ROI Map 8.10 now downloaded for a total of 13258 corrections in use.

I'm starting to think that uffe73 could be right, i would have thought that i would have had more than just one map share download by now. However i was never sure when TT release the latest map shares, weekly, daily, what ever.
Also, when i've looked at Tools/TT Map Share/Map Share Preferences/Select Countries I have nothing to select. Which is making me think that the map share updates i downloaded could have just been a test by TT

"select countries" was blank for me when I downloaded mapshares OK.
On another site (that also said mapshare was being switched back on gradually over the week starting Friday) it was said that mapshare updates were moving to be weekly. |

I still have 0 MapShares!
Last night, I got a message, (first time in 3 weeks!) Your map has not been updated in 20 weeks, there are 118489 updates available". Well I hit the Update button and was given a whole list of countries (first time in 3 weeks!) and I was informed that my download would be just over 14 Mb!
I set it going and promptly got "Server refused connection", I tried it all again, only to be told "0 MapShare updates available"
 Didn't want any anyway.

Just gone with the mapshare deal myself and got latest Western Europe map. All installed and when I come to "Update my GO" (720), it tells me there's 16MB of mapshare info. I click Updare and install and it's all over in 2 seconds, yet they've not installed as When I go to update they're still available!
Home then proceeds to state I've not update the map for 20 weeks and there are 129000+ map share corrections waiting...
Any ideas why it's not updating? |

It is normal for TomTom's servers to have problems with connections and capacity most of the time! I personally have always had problems updating, ever since I bought my 720 last year. It has never gone smoothly since day one...........until now 
I tried again this morning and it connected properly first time, it offered me the GPS Quickfix and the MapShare updates all at the same time! It has never done that before.
Could it have finally turned the corner??

This morning, I connected my GO920T and went for update. I declined QuickGPSFix and mapshare downloads as I always do, accepted Traffic update and allowed my mapshare corrections to upload.
Then I connected my GO720 and went for the same. Again declined Fix and mapshare downloads, but I wasn't given Traffic update (presumably because I haven't got Traffic activated on it?) and allowed the same mapshare corrections to upload (different device, different map).
After disconnection I found that once again when I used them, they had been reset to show lane images. GRRRR!

That's right Andy, you tell 'im! I've been sitting here for the last three quarters of an hour trying to think of something suitably pithy and have failed miserably. That's the trouble with 70, the brain slows down exponentially. Never mind, I'll sit here smugly thinking to myself that I turned down over 140,000 mapshare corrections. Dammit, did I say 70? Can't even remember my age now! 69 going on 70.
