Hi All,

Has anyone else heard anything more about the Oregon 300? this is the direct rival to SatMap.

Unless it can use OS maps it won't come close as a rival, "shaded base maps" don't sound like OS to me - Mike

Never mind the mapping...does the clock keep accurate time!? Laughing

It's not a rival in my eyes...not with crappy mapping!!

Having had the chance now to do some more research, the unit is capable of using additional maps via an sd slot, on the US website it quotes "These maps are comparable to the 1:24,000 scale paper charts provided by the United States Geological Survey", basically similar to our ord survey.

With that info it looks more rival than not to me?

As far as I can see the Oregon is a new vesion of the Colorado!

They are Garmin maps.

The best maps for walking on my Garmin units is the Fugawi mapping on my iQue.
