Hello everyone,
I'm the author of the ITNConv software. I want to announce to you a new version with a great evolution :D.
Now ITNConv have a integrated route planner. You can plan or edit an itinerary with several waypoints. You can also search a location and add it to your itinerary, or set manually your waypoints locations.
This planner use Google Maps technologies, thus you need a internet connection to use it.
Formidable !
If you want to put up an English page (rather than Google translation), ...

Tried searching a couple of postcodes and towns to add to itinerary and they couldn't be found.
Loaded an existing route from Autoroute and liked the one click reverse route feature. :D
I'm getting an error message displayed at the top

The geographic location for 'Glasgow' cannot be returned due to legal or contractual reasons.

Thank you for your congratulations :D
Thanks to BGF for the translation, I must create a english page since a long time, but I don't take time for that
I'm also working on a english user manual.
A new version 1.61 is available:
- Fix the bad reading of some OziExplorer files
- Improve the search of locations. Now you can find Glasgow _________________ Utilities for GPS :

Excellent! New version works with postcodes (include the space) and British towns (add ",UK")!
Benichou,
I don't quite understand the search! I presume that it is part of the Google API, rather than something that you have written, but can you explain it?
If I search Glasgow, it defaults to Glasgow UK, and offers no other choices, although I know that there are other places called Glasgow (e.g. Glasgow,KY).
If I search for Largs, a small Scottish town, it defaults to "Largs, New South Wales, Australia", and offers a list of others, the 2nd being "Emmaus, PA 18049". I can't tell, looking at the map, why it has offered "Emmaus, PA 18049"! Also, Largs,UK is not on the list of matches! I can understand that it could list the matches in "Geographical importance" i.e. City, Town, Village ..., but I'd still expect the UK locations somewhere on the list! _________________ Jock

There are two kinds of Google Search Requests. The first is used by Google Maps and Google Earth, the second is provided by the API.
In the version 1.60, I was only use the second one, but you see that it doesn't produce good results in all cases. In version 1.61, I added the first method, which offer better results.
But I don't known how Google choose the accuracy of geographical locations.
I found this in the Google Maps help section:
Quote:
We understand that there are many different ways to search for a location, and we're working hard to make this process as intuitive as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve this service.
In the meantime, you may want to refine your search terms to find a specific location using the following format:
"Address, city, state" or "Address, city, ZIP"
For example, "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA", or "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, 94043."
