Free lifetimes subscription?

I have purchased a Garmin C10D from BMW UK I was informed it had a free lifetimes traffic alert subscription but when going through the routine on the websie "as per the visual instructions on the unit" it wants to charge me $60. Antbody have same problems?

I thought that should be able to receive traffic via TMC (Classic FM) so you shouldn't need to subscribe to anything for that in UK.

Yes it did come with the extra antenna etc
