Can anyone enable the logging? When trying to turn it on - all I get is a prefilled log filename - the directory chooser and a cancel button.

There's no way of 'confirming' the file to log too.

Am I missing something ?

Andy,

What OS are you running? You should get an "OK" button on the top right of the taskbar. If you arent then something is obviously wrong.

Ive just tested on my WM 2003 device and its works (my WM5 device is at home so I cant test that one right now).

The file name dialog uses GSgetfile (since the MS file browser limits you to certain directories).

Regards

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you should be able to press "OK" on the D-pad to dismiss the dialog once youve selected a filename.

Regards
Trevor

Bah .. OK - lets disregard this ... I'm on Windows 2005 (recently upgraded) and missed the 'OK' in the top (top) right (ie, above the 'Cancel' button).

Sorry Trevor.

One suggestion I have .. not sure if it goes against what you see in the product's development. Is the max speed line in the speed graph. Can this be customisable? Ie, personally, I don't find historic max speed limit that useful, and I would prefer to have a choice - maybe, rolling, or sampled average speed ?

Thank for the tip Alan Will Try That later today

Use a BT Receiver that’s virtually on all the time so a restart wouldn’t be a bad idea

Andy,

Regarding your suggestion about the graphs, in order to make some real estate for the speed camera database display I intend to combine the current graphs into one "screen".

The revised graph screen will be able to be switched between the current speed & elevation graphs and a few more new ones which I will be adding. I will look intio making ones of these a current speed vs average speed.

If you have any suggestions for other graphs you would like to see feel free to let me know.

Regards
Trevor

cyrilwad,

while you are trying COM ports, take a look at the status screen (the last icon). Do all 3 of the dots flash or stay green? These represent the NMEA sentences the application is expecting.

Some people have had issues with the MIO without the latest firmware. The latest firmware turns the required sentences on (there is another method too).

If you want some help via email you can get my address of my website (www.tchartdev.com)

Regards

Cyril,

Do you know what firmware version you are running? Is it 2.3 or 2.4?

Try COM2 with baud rate of 4800 and also try 9600. I have reports of both working (depending on the firmware version).

Regards

Cyril

Okay, I must have misread the post. If you are getting a "Cant open port message" the port is probably in use by another program. There is an operating system limitation in Windows Mobile which only allows one program to use a COM port at a time.

Are you running any other GPS applications like TomTom? make sure they are closed properly - merely clicking the X to close the app doesnt always close the app properly

An easy way to ensure nothing else is running is to give you device a soft reset. After it boots up, start GPS Speed Sentry and see if you can connect to COM2.

Regards

Hi Trevor
Thank you, It now works on Com 5,
the only trouble is now my Tom Tom won't
work.
I guess i will have to do a reset each time i
change between the two programs unless i can find
a way to disable the com ports that it says are working.
THANK YOU.
