I have had a reply from Garmin tech support regarding the TTS voices on my Nuvi 310

If you have a Nüvi 300 or 310 then you will not be able to use the TTS feature as this is not available for these units. The Nüvi 350 and 360 are able to use the TTS feature

So it seems the 310 cant use the TTS but Im sure Ive seen threads describing them doing just that. Is there a hack to make the 310 think its a 360 and accept the voives, or is it a hardware thing that is missing from the 310 ?
I have tried the instructions on this forum by editing the c340 voices with hexedit but still no joy

Any ideas
