problems with new BM6380

Ive just purchased a BM6380 from Makro after seeing the topics on this forum.
Ive had it a week now and have been through all the teething problems listed on this forum such as slow initial starting, showing that I was in London and lots of low signal messages.
The latter I put down to the screen in my Peugot 406 as it works well against the side windows, so an external aerial is on order.
Now for the problems I cant sort has anyone else come across the following and managed to fix them?

1. I loaded activesync from the supplied CD onto my PC and followed the prompts to connect the satnav and although my PC can see the satnav as a usb device activesync will not connect.

2. I cannot install the console from the second CD "desinator ND" the CD will not autorun, when I explore the CD I find a file named Autorun CE.exe in one of the folders, trying to run this pops up a message saying "The image file D:\SD Card Recovery\AutoRun CE.exe is valid but is for a machine type other than the current machine" Any ideas?

3. How do you download the updates from lowestonweb/destinator and transfer them onto the satnav?
