Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but Sony enter the GPS market with the NVX-P1

Thanks for the post, its interesting to see a new product.

I must say, I was hoping Sony would have their own software. It looks like they are using the NAVMAN system on their own hardware design. Personally I dont like the look of the navman system, that screen looks very cluttered.

I dont think it will be a Tomtom beater if it has NAVMAN software. From what I have read about the ICN500 series, things to improve are screen reflectivity, sound and satellite pick up. Even if the Sony improves on these, I still dont think it will be a tomtom Go beater.

Its actually shocking that Sony isn't developing there own software. Beta, Connect.com, mini disc, UMDs all would have made you think this.

it looks suspiciously like an old navman ICN600 series to me. and if memory serves me right they were rather large so not a GO beater IMO either.
