Magellan Explorist 600

Hi Folks,

I'm another newbie joining the GPS world. This a great forum, I've enjoyed researching all the GPS gizmo's!!
Anyhow, to cut to the chase, i've been researching rugged/handheld GPS devices for off-road mountain biking days out.
So far, the Magellan Explorist 600 looks to do everything i want (i.e. UK Topo detail maps on screen, altitude measurements, Colour display etc..) I've compared this to the Garmin eTrex Vista but the Vista doesn't have UK topo map support.
I've not read any "real" user reviews of the Explorist 600, just the Magellan manual and specs. I've also had problems with its availability in the UK. Nobody seems to have stock until mid September.
Is this such a new device nobody has had a chance to rate it yet? Anybody got one who can give me the low down on it?
