FAULK navigation
Just purchase a sat nav package that included FAULK navigation software -a disgraceful piece of kit! The company website is appalling with no information whatsoever. The software programme that you install on to your PC to plan routes is in-flexible and unworkable – if it would download the route to your PDA it might help redeem itself. When on my Typoon/Mia PDA running at 300mhz it locks up and requires a reset if you make a wrong turn during a lengthy journey - which is terrible!! I used mates Medion from Halfords before buying the Typoon; the Medion would have been my purchase except the Typoon/Mia has a built in GPS. The Medion was great and I would recommend it. To solve my FAULK problem I have bought Tom Tom 3 navigation and everything is now perfect!! All the overlays for LPG stations, points of interest and speed cameras work, the machine never locks up, it re-calculates the route within 100 meters of a wrong turn and is faultless. If you are going to buy a PDA Sat Nav buy the Tom Tom software. Look at it like the video tape format VHS, Betamax tapes and Philips tried to win over there format and lost – so will everybody against TOM TOM |

This is the very same problems i was having.
Now to add a twist to this.
I got my wife a pocket pc from Toys'r'Us and it came with the Marco Polo software, now this software is 99% the same as the Falk Navigator software, the only difference is the front loading screen.
I tried the Marco Polo software and it worked perfectly, infact i have it installed on my pocket pc along with TomTom navigator, so i have a choice.
The Falk Navigator software would take forever to 'wake up' when starting a jouney, the Marco Polo software is ready to go within seconds (same amount of time as TomTom)
Maybe the coders added a bug when it was being relabled to 'falk navigator' causing the software to lock up when ignoring the chosen route.

Easy...watch my lips, you go into a shop, or on the net, and buy TTGo.
Sorry, but I have little sympathy for people who have unfortunately been persuaded to purchase rubbish sat nav systems...generally speaking, you get what you pay for in this life. |
