During the holiday period, i.e July, August, the major routes in cornwall get very congested, with up to 10 - 15 miles tailback on the A30 around Bodmin. Trafficmaster always identifies these hold ups correctly and gives good indication of traffic delay. However, i have not seen tomtom report any delays on these routes. I have mentioned this to tomtom and advised that ITIS information is not as uptodate as trafficmaster. This is the reply that i got:-

As we described earlier, the data on our server gets updates by the data provider every 30 seconds. At this point there is nothing else we can suggest you. As we are comparing the number of users in the UK and the number of customers who contact us about the accuracy of the provided data there doesnt seem to be anything wrong.
We suggest you to install the latest version of TomTom Traffic by login into the MyTomTom area at our support site. Please contact us again should you have any problems with the application itself.
In the above, tomtom are suggesting that they do not get many complaints on the quality of the data. If we want this to improve, we should start to report the problems with the quality of the data. Comparing both Traffic-I (Trafficmaster) and Tomtom, traffic-i is by far the most accurate.
