It's not the sun on the device but the direct reflections back from you and the interior of the car that's the problem.

It's strange that my iphone, when positioned similar, doesn't act like a mirror and neither does the Samsung phone in the mrs's car.

I'll agree the sunshade thingy wouldn't sort it but I find it hard to accept that (seemingly) most users don't have a problem with their portable mirrors!

I do if I don't point it to show the interior roof lining.

I point mine parallel to the windscreen, rather than towards me and that works fine when there is no-one else in the car, but if I have passengers with light-coloured clothing, it can be a bit of a problem, although to be fair, in the UK the sun is hidden behind clouds for much of the time, so I guess it's not so much of a problem as it would be in say California. One thing I might try is to see if my polaroid sunglasses cut down any glare off the screen, but I think they also interfere with the wanted light as well (depending on which way you tilt your head), so the overall effect may not be that beneficial.

Yes, I know all about pointing it in different directions to reduce the reflections, but I just wanted to try an anti reflection screen protector.
