New version 63.

Just a minor change on the 'Text Change' screen.

There was a Tab order issue that forced the Allow Prefix radio button to always be selected when the screen was opened.

Works OK for me but feedback please.

The overspeed warning is sometimes being given when well under the speed limit. I have changed the overspeeds to 1 mph above the official limit, but it's still doing it. Is this a bug by any chance?

Not a bug my end.

If you have the overspeed set then I write out a standard GPX line that contains a @ symbol.
That is what Garmin works with.


Your debug steps:

Find any camera in question in the speed related file it's in. Once found copy and paste the individual camera line(s) here so I can investigate it and whether it's the same in my file.

As expected they are fine:

S-MOBILE:21292#30

Under my settings of 14 and 5 seconds the proximities are 187 and 67 yards respectively, which is correct.

Conclusion, your Garmin thinks you're speeding, or, you are accelerating at a rate that the Garmin thinks you will be speeding when you get to the camera.

I am sure you are correct Kremmen; the one thing I feel that must be remembered is that we are not using GPS in what's known as a DGPS. What may be happening, is that there is a sudden jump forward which might be indicating an increased speed. Just food for thought... At the end of the day; the programme you have made available is Brill; always better to vere on the safe side....

The latest version of AVG Free is a pain.

It flags the Direction Converter up as Suspicious, but eventually lets it run.

It flags the CSV Converter up as Suspicious, and says it is reporting it to HQ for analysis and approval, which is never forthcoming. Meantime, it will not let it run.

The answer is to go into AVG Settings and to Resident Shield and Customise and Exceptions and browse to the location of the converter.exe and set it to be not scanned eg C:\Users\Dales\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\etc.

That has been raised before and the AVG whitelist route was suggested.

Malwarebytes ransomware also flagged it. The reason is because it's deleting csv files and rewriting them as gpx files, rather quickly. Similar behaviour as some ransomeware viruses.

If anyone wants a copy of the source code you are more than welcome. Nothing to hide.

I've just had a message back from AVG
"AVG Virus Lab says this file is clean - CSV to GPX converter.
The larger our database, the better we can protect you".

So it seems it will not block it in future, because marked safe in the database.

Malwarebytes v3 has started identifying the Converter as Ransomware

As before, you will need to add it to the exclusions list (amend your 'hyroglyphic' filename as required).



I've emailed MBAM but I'm not expecting any positive outcome.

Also - Norton blocked it this morning

The Norton fix is via 'Scans - File Insight' then 'Trust' the program:



Odd they should both block it on the same day. Are they in collusion (not a bad thing).

A new version is on its way due to one bug and one enhancement. (thanks M)

Since I last compiled the project, Microsoft in their infinite wisdom, have updated all versions of C:\Windows\System32\Shell32.dll (and the SYSWOW entry for 64bit). They are now dated May 2017 (for Win7) and June 2017 (For Win10).

The various versions across Windows platforms are now not compatible with each other !!!

Unfortunately the error message was as clear as mud:



The end result is that the UnZip routine, that uses the Shell command will only work natively on Win7 machines that have the same .dll that I have.

However, .Net 4.5 framework has a new ZipFile class that I have rewritten into, so with the next version (64) you will need .NET 4.5 installed. Currently the requirement was 4.0

If you haven't got 4.5, or newer it should prompt a download.
