My VIA 135 works perfectly when it is navigating but its camera warning voices are not there when it isn't, even though the cameras show on the screen.
Also, it quite often doesn't switch on automatically when the ignition is turned of and then back on. I guess it's in the Setup but I can't find where. Confused

Can you clarify your first sentence bazza. Do you mean the the camera audible warnings are there when you are following a route, but not there when just driving about?
Are you using Kremmen's CSV to GPX converter? If not, the Garmin has a habit of not warning you when approaching a camera when you are below the speed limit. Kremmen's prog overcomes this 'shortcoming'.

The via 135 is a TomTom unit M8TJT

When you set up proximity alerts, there is a check box for "only sound when on route", or similar. If that box is checked, then it will only sound when a route is planned. You will have to check each alert you have set up as it is not a universal setting.

Thanks Mark. I think that was the problem. I will check it tomorrow.

Thanks Mark, it's ok now. In the process of doing it, when it asks if you want to delete the camera I inadvertently clicked on "Yes" and lost a camera (60mph Gatso) which I can't get back. Can you help me get it back?

All you have done is removed the Warn when Near setting for the camera. You don't delete the actual files associated with the Mobile 60 cameras.

Just repeat the Warn when Near procedure for that camera again.

I can't do that as the camera is not now in the list of POI Categories. How do I get it in there?
Sorry to be a pain. ps. It was a Gatso 60 camera, not a mobile.

In that case there are two possible scenarios.

1. You actually deleted the Gatso 60 POI file, in which case you need to re-instate it from the downloaded zip file. If you've already deleted that also, you can download the cameras again.

2. You have a large number of OV2 files in your Map folder. There is a limit to how many items a TT can display in any menu.

If the Gatso 60 OV2 file is definitely on the Device, you would need to move a few of the other OV2 files to another location, until the Gatso 60 did show in the Warn when Near list. Once set up the removed OV2 files can then be placed in the Map folder again.

Thanks Richard. Back to normal now. I'm grateful. A new download of camera files did the trick.
