Getting lost or misdirected. I checked the post update maps and settings and checked the Avoids I had selected were still valid. I noticed (not that I remembered from before) that there is an option to exclude not paved roads or similar.
Of course what constitutes their idea of the road to be avoided my differ from yours, bit is it possible that not clicking Avoid for such roads will allow the Garmin to route you down narrow one-way roads that you would prefer to avoid? |

Just spotted that Garmin may have realised what the year is.
It's 2017 and the latest map on my 2597 & 2599 are 2017.02
By now 2018.01 is coming out _________________ Satnav:

Their numbering is a thing of wonder. I wonder who the hell thought it up? |

Bit like our tax years, often a year ahead and magazines who issue their monthly offerings the month before
Not only is Garmin's numbering weird but over the last few map updates they've broken the link that existed between the NA and EU maps, so the latest NA map is 2017.30 because they switched to 2017.xx numbering when we were still on 2016.xx _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Does the new NA map restore the 3-D rendering, where available, or did that only disappear from the EU version? |

AFAIK it was only the EU version that was affected. Seen no complaints on any of the US forums that I frequent. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
