I have downloaded the CSV to GPX Installer file on my Win 7 desktop, and in order to understand what to do I opened the text doc to read the instructions. I can read all the text OK but the contents of the areas within the boxes are blank. All there is is a small icon which looks like a page torn jaggedly in half horzontally with the top right coner turned over. I have tried various things including turning off ad blockers but to no avail. Anyone got any suggestions?
Hope you all had a good Christmas and all the best for 2017.

Have you unzipped the whole ZIP File to a unique Folder?

If Yes, then the CSV Converter.htm (Help File) should be in the CSV to GPX Installer sub-folder.

The torn Icon indicates that the .htm file can't find the associated picture, which, in this case, should be in the CSV Converter_files sub-folder.

Thanks

Microsoft Word has an annoying feature of not embedding the pictures into the .htm document itself.

As mentioned, it needs to be accompanied by the folder that contains all the pictures.

What should happen is when you copy or move the .htm file the pictures folder should automatically move with it.

If the output had been supplied as a PDF file all graphic files would have been included in the supplied document - like most if not all documentation supplied electronically.

MS Word has this capability via the print option at the bottom left hand corner of the print menu.

The reason I used htm is that it can be launched directly from within the program.

I'll experiment with pdf to see if it behaves the same.

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't realised that I had to set up the unique folder just to be able to read the instructions etc. Now that has been done I can read the contents of the boxes OK. Just for the record I was using Firefox with LibreOffice.
Now all I have got to do is understand it all.
On looking at the box examples I see there is only one picture file on the example while I have 3 (22x22, 24x24, 44x44). Do I use choose just one, if so which? Currently on my Garmin Drivesmart I cannot see the speed for cameras as they are too small.

Yes, you just choose one. I found the 44x44 too large so use the 24x24 but it's a personal thing and easy enough to swap should you find one set too large/small.

I'll look at using both types of file because I know some shun pdf because of Adobe Readers security history. I use Sumatra for that reason. I did use Foxit for a while but they started bundling PUP's with the installer.

I'm still puzzled how the htm has become detached from the pictures folder and it shouldn't need to be 'set up'. What should happen is that after unzipping the package the htm and folder should be visible and ready for viewing. When you create the working directory and move the htm there the folder should move automatically. Always does for me.

Leave it with me, it will be next week.
