Tomtom Go5100 route instruction differ from map?

Been using my Go 5100 for a week now, and first impressions are very good. However, a couple of times now, I have noticed that the directional instructions are different to what is displayed on the map. The voice instruction tells me to go one way, but the map shows a different route. The map being correct. The device is fully up to date, and I'm now in a state of distrust with the device. Anybody else had this problem, and is there a fix?

change the voice to a female one, my wife says they are never wrong
