So which works best, a visible deterrent or an invisible deterrent?

It's only those of you drive at illegal speeds that insist they are yellow. If you don't speed it doesn't matter what colour they are. If if you don't speed then they wouldn't have to spend our taxes installing them in the first place.

If people didn't speed we wouldn't need to have a deterrent, and it would help to reduce our taxes.

I think invisible ones are better, because you don't know where they are and hence drive at legal speeds all the time, rather than slamming the anchors on each time you see a yellow box or a parked up white van.

One thing that does annoy me is the drivers who do get caught, get awarded points that take them over the ban limit but still keep their licences due to IMO senile judges and magistrates.

Wasn't there a driver who had in excess of 50 points but still had a valid licence.

If you need your licence for your living then you should be even more aware of the speed limits.

Agreed. If they drove legally then there would be no problem.

Also agree about the senile, sometimes no doubt incompetent and possibly illegally influenced, judges and magistrates.

It shouldn't be points based it should be strike based, as per my original post. And the hard labour when in prison should be working on the highways clearing up accidents caused by bad or illegal driving so that they can see the consequences of such things.

Why not just make speeding a capital offences and have transgressors lynched and hung from the nearest tree, that would also save court time and costs.

Even better Very Happy

If people drove legally and didn't speed there wouldn't be the need for speed cameras etc.. Those that speed only have themselves to blame, and the rest of us blame them for the costs that we all end up paying for.

If people behaved themselves there would be no need for policemen, judges, prisons, probation officers, traffic wardens, blah, blah.

But some people don't.
