Success, I've spent a couple of hours on it, downloaded a new set of speed camera & voice files and a new POI loader, ran it on my Windows 10 laptop with the sox.exe file but it was just the same, "unable to convert pocketgps_uk_gatso.wav to the proper format" tried again on my XP PC no difference, so I had a look in my home directory and I found a folder I'd saved some time ago with some old voice alerts by Liz Whittaker which were .wav files and a sox file, I swapped these over for the voice pack I had just downloaded and they work, just don't me why.
