2599 won't connect to my PC

Anything in the Windows 'event viewer' ?

Do you get the Windows 'bong' when you connect?

No 9 is worth a shot if the Garmin used to be OK.

Weird.

I turned off the device and then connected it to the PC. It started up and went into express mode. Meawhile, the PC decided to hibernate. When I took it out of hibernate mode, it still worked and Garmin Express saw it just fine.

Removed the cable and it didn't come out of express mode. Switched it off (hold power for 10 seconds till it reboots) and it started up normally and then it proceeded to act as it did before when I plugged it in.

Repeated the first paragraph above and it did NOT work.

[edit] I hibernated the PC before I plugged it in and then it DID work.

I still have no idea what's going on....
