Well, new 'My Drive Connect'( with XP adjustments) is installed, up, and limping.

Is it me, or will it not accept post codes?
Just unbeliveable!
Please, please tell me I'm wrong.

Am I the only one to find 'My Drive' a nightmare of uncertainty?

My TomTom 6100 can take between 15 minutes and 24 hours to download and sync a 3Mb download. My computer confirms that it is connected to the TomTom, the TomTom confirms it is connected to the computer but it is MyDrive Connect software that fails to recognise the connection. This is the worst download/update situation I have come across. My old TomTom 700 and TomTomHome were far superior in this respect. Meanwhile TomTom Support is merely repeating their online help which does not resolve any of these ongoing problems.

Might you have an anti-virus interfering with proper transmission of data?

Also, try switching the default port in Settings--Downloads from 4000 to 5000 or 5001.

(get to Settings by clicking the country flag in MyDriveConnect)

I read few of your posts and purchased tomtom via 135 from argos.

How do I istall the speed cams in it, I cannot figure it please can you share how you do it.

I hope I have not purchased the satnav that you cannot instal pocket gps cams on it.

Maybe it's the different devices that are the cause of the different experiences. My Via 135 is an earlier generation of TomTom than yours, and is one of the last to accept third party POIs.

Don't worry, the VIA 135 does allow the addition of the camera database.

Go to the download page and scroll down to the coloured table of installation guides. The first green TomTom section includes "All VIA models". There are two guides there, and I always use the first one, the "OV2" method. If you choose to use the "Single Zip File" method I'm afraid I am unable to help as I'm not familiar with it.

Have you tried following the OV2 instructions? If so, where do you get stuck?

Hello Anita

Thank you so much for the reply.

I downloaded the new software from tomtom, if I don't use it the tomtom Can not be seen on my Windows 10.

On tomtom my drive connect it does not give me an option for community update.

When I connected it the first time it took hours to update maps and it only had tomtom related things such as speed cams, voices, and option to install smaller maps.

The community update option Is nowhere to be seen.

When you RIGHT-click the MyDrive Connect icon in the system tray with the device connected and switched on what do you see?

When I do this the drop-down list shows:
Open MyDrive Connect
Manage community content
Settings
Quit

Are you using a PC or a Mac?

I am not 100% but I am sure I did do that, right click on system tray I will try and report back.

Thanks Dennis Windows 10 is pc and it took days in fact weeks to update to new versions, not impressed.

I have Windows 7 on laptop and can use that if needed.

Like Dennis I want speed cams as reminders to what speed shoukd be doing.

Thanks in advance, until I spot new cams and report I will just purchase new sub.

Since buying a TomTom 6001 it has been a complete nightmare updating it using MyDrive Connect software on my iMac. In fact I spent more time on the phone to the helpline than I did using the SatNav. Just before last Christmas I tried an update using MyDrive Connect from within Windows 10(using VMWare Fusion). Surprise , surprise it updated without any problems and has continued in like fashion ever since!! So all you MAC users should update your TomToms using the Windows version of MyDrive Connect!
