Got my shiny new 2599 now.

Every time I turn it on the don't operate by driving comes up.
Can it be disabled?

Also, last time I turned it on it went through the eula thing again. Not language, but eula. Is that normal?
It did take longer to come on and showed the garmin logo for probably 20 secs or so.
I just turned it off normally I thought.

Talking of which, I understand that it's usually on a standby, so it starts quickly. But can be turned off more fully. How do you do both?

Each time it starts voice command banner pops down at the top of screen briefly. Can it be disabled?

I tried traffic, in the house, not on the mount or any cable. It said I needed something else for that?
Is the antenna in the cable?

To remove the EULA warning/info you need to plug the unit into a PC and register it online. If you have done and it's still showing you can, again with a PC, remove the EULA file(s) which also stop it displaying.

The nag screen is a fact of life but don't press agree as it soon goes away on it's own, probably a minute or 2 once you are moving.

You won't get traffic indoors unless you are using Smartlink.

You also won't get traffic outdoors unless your nuvi is powered by the correct cable, as it contains the antenna.

EULA will disappear after a while too, I think once you've had a firm satellite lock.

To switch off completely press and hold the off switch until you see a message asking you 'Turn off the device?'. It's worth doing that occasionally or if your nuvi misbehaves as it forces a 'cold boot'.

Thanks guys. All useful to know. I did think maybe antenna was in cable, but I have looked at so many new to me things this last few days it's a bit of a blur!
I have garmin express installed, but not had a good slot to go for plugging it in for updates etc. Probably tomorrow. Hopefully no new threads from me about that!!
