Hi,

I've owned my Nuvi 3598 LTM-D for a couple of weeks and now successfully use my personally created POI in csv format. I've compiled those POI's in ov2 over years using my old TomTom 25.

To create these POI's over time when driving, I use my journey information as captured and logged on my car's dash-cam video recorder which has an inbuilt GPS receiver and uses Google Maps as its source.

To determine "Long/Lat" details of places of interest I've passed on a journey, I simply replay sections of the videos at home and take specifics within these for creating my "csv" file. This saves me having to jot down or remember every detail when driving.

A real time example of how I achieved this is shown on this "Software" created screen snap-shot JPG image within one of my actual journeys. The white 'pop-up' information box on the lower part of the video window is created by just placing your mouse pointer anywhere over the timeline. Brilliantly easy. It's accessible to view via the link below on my personal Box.net account. ( No silly redirects/ adverts / pop-ups or such crazy's)

Now my question, is their any other easy method of determining and revealing "Long/Lat" co-ordinates on a commercial map by a computer "Mouse-over /click" method.

I have used http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ to convert locations into "Long/Lat" co-ordinates in the past but it's very tedious and time consuming, hence the use of my cars onboard video recorders logged journey information.

Any help or advice is appreciated,

Cheers,

John in the UK Smile
