Showing Text Messages

I recently changed my mobile phone to a Sony Xperia Android smart phone. Previously I had a SonyEricson W595 phone.

I joined the new phone to my 750Live and it joined seamlessly -- phone book the lot.
I have an Icon on my 750L screen for phone and that worked well.
Incoming and out going calls via the 750.
The only thing is now I don't get any TEXT messages showing or being read out on my 750L as I did previously.
I have loaded and unloaded my phone several times but to no avail
-- any idea why we have stopped getting text messages on screen or voice??

It is probably a casualty of TomTom "development", which fell behind compatibility with phones a long time ago. In my ignorance, I thought they wouldn't handle texts from any phone more recent than about 8 years ago!!

TomTom's "Phone compatibility" pages on their website are one of the best examples of how they stopped serving their customers...
It won't have any modern phones on it, but if you look at some of the charts for old brands/models, (by selecting GO750 in the second tab) it shows how they stopped being able to offer text messages on-screen pretty quickly.
As new phones came out where certain features didn't work on the TomTom, TT never bothered to do the work to fix it.
