Finally, Garmin has announced a series of 5, 6, & 7" Advanced Series Nuvi models for 2014.

These include the the 2539, 59, 89, and 99 five inch models, the 2639 and 2689 6 inch models and a single 7" model, the 2789. Some of these have been available in the UK for a few months now but don't have all the same features. Details (US models) are at:

https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-road/automotive/new/cOnTheRoad-cAutomotive-atFILTER_FEATURE_NEW_01-p1.html

The Direct Access feature seems to be new as does the Foursquare (think this is USA only) - more details here. http://www.techhive.com/article/2601902/garmin-nuvi-navigation-devices-add-foursquare-data-to-fend-off-smartphones.html

Not sure what the shift to last number '9' represents as '7' meant traffic and '8' meant digital traffic.

No sign of a Premium model to replace the 3597/3598 version.

First number is 2
Second number is screen size
Third number usually used to differentiate between maps loaded/bluetooth
Fourth number is always 9, probably just to indicate these are the latest and/or use Foursquare Confused
