I'm using the Garmin Montana in an off road motorcycle event in Romania this July.

The organisers load a map with a route onto the GPS unit, you simply follow the line and have an allowed time to complete the course.

With that in mind, whilst I'm navigating I'd like the screen to also display the current speed, the time and distance travelled in small boxes - much like the current Navi mode.

I can currently achieve the speed and time but not the distance.

Any information as to how I can add this is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve.

Are you using the nuvi dashboard? If so distance travelled is not an option although distance to destination is.

Yes, I'm using the Navi dashboard but I can't see how to get any distance added - if I could get distance to destination that would do.

Perhaps I'm being thick but would it be under speed?

Thanks for the help.

No, it's in the other field, the time one. Just tap it and you'll see the options.

Right, I'll check it tonight when I get in but I'm sure it's not there - elevation and something else is?

Is there any way to add that in should it not be there?

Thanks again.

It's only there when you have an active route, otherwise you only get time, elevation and direction of travel.

Aha! Maybe that's my problem, I'll check it out this evening.

Thanks very much.

How on earth can you expect to have a distance to destination without a route set? Very Happy

If you read from the top I wanted to able to set a trip distance - not necessarily a distance to destination.

Thanks very much - gave it a try last night and you were right, there are additional options available when navigating.

The distance to destination should work for what I need!
