I will be travelling across China later this year with my Garmin Nuvi. I am thinking of buying a Garmin China map on an SD card.
I am aware that China 'offsets' its coordinates. Does this mean that a Garmin China map will be of any use or have they compensated for the offset in the mapping software? |

Just makes me wonder how China 'offset the co-ordinates' of an American satellite system. Got a reference to how they do this? |

Thanks for the link. Interesting.
Ah, I see. They don't offset the GPS co-ordinates, but use a map with a different projection which leads to the errors between GPS position and Map position. |

So do Garmin maps have this built in feature to ensure you in the correct place and not stuck in the middle of a river? |
