my 530 failed yesterday it got stuck on the tom-tom screen for about an hour and then when the screen did change it failed to even display the maps.

went through all the trouble of restoring everything to the 4gb card that I already had installed which was previously full of mp3's.

the 530 booted up and all seemed well on a demo route run, when it came to trying it out in the car things went down hill. it booted and first told me the chosen voice wasn't available and then said there were no maps installed Sad

As i need the sat nav for tomorrow morning I bought a Go400, the first unit went straight back to the shop as it had dead pixels on the screen.

Already not liking the new software on it as there is no option to plan an alternative route!

It's worth persevering with the old unit and an SD card..

I have a GO520 who's internal memory died years ago, and it still works with everything moved onto a card.

i tried putting everything onto the card, the system fired up and first told me the selected voice wasn't available and then the next screen said that there were no maps!

As I needed the satnav working I had to bite the bullet.....still got the 530 though so may have another play at some point as the older system was better than this new stuff
