Vertical line apperared on 950

Hi, A vertical black line from top to bottom has appeared in the middle of my tomtom 950 live recently. does anyone have any idea how to put it right? I do realise that I have to take the unit apart. Maybe its the ribbon cable? Has anyone come across this before? Its not been dropped and is in excellent condition. (apart from the line that is)

I've certainly heard of this before on units where the ribbon cable has been disturbed (eg for a battery change).
I guess it's always possible that it could become intermittent on it's own, but less likely - it could just be a screen hardware failure.

If you feel confident (and have the right tiny Torx tools required) then have a look for any video tutorials for changing the battery, open it up and try re-seating the ribbon cable. The locking bar on the connector needs to be VERY GENTLY eased up about 1mm, no further, as they are very easy to break.

If that doesn't help, new displays are available on eBay. It's slightly more expensive but much easier to fit, if you opt for the combined "display and digitiser" rather then the display only.
