Been looking at the unlocking process. It seems they have toughened it up for v2, apparently quite simple for v1. So wonder if thet are still available?

Would I be able to just shove in my Orange PAYG SIM and away I go. I wonder if it's B/Tooth and whether it wil pair with my Honda hands free. Last question is sort of rhetorical.
Are we drifrting a bit off topic here just like you 'drift over the speed limit'? Very Happy

Ah yes, slightly more complex with V2.

Plenty of the V1's on eBay. I've a white model that's now superfluous to requirements if you want to evaluate one?

As it's Guivere's topic, I'm certain he won't mind as it's still his. Was the offer of a loan for evaluation to me or Guivere?

M8TJT, I'm still undecided, you seem a bit more decided, so take Darren's offer by all means. I've been looking at unlocked payg phones, would this work?

Edit: with giffgaff, if you do not use £10pm, what are the data limits?

Is unlimited really unlimited?
The answer is yes, we are unlimited for personal mobile use - but not for commercial and automated use.

You can use it as a normal PAYG without buying a goody bag. If you do that then your credit runs out when you use it rather than buying a set number of minutes/data for a month.

Data on normal PAYG is 20p for the first 20mb each day. So if you use only 1mb per day it will take off 20p per day from your credit. If you use 20mb per day it will still take off 20p per day from your normal credit. After the first 20mb it is 20p per mb.

Details here: http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

OK, you'll all hate me, but I've got a Road Angel Vantage [connected]. Found an outlet selling them for £100 and gave in to the easy technical update option.

It would seem that RoadAngel are discontinuing their database support for older devices and cancelling their so called "lifetime" subscriptions. A few disgruntled customers over on MSE.
