I must take this opportunity to paraise Satmap's Customer Service.
I recently sent my 3 year old Satmap in for the service and World Map Upgrade.
I also sent back four map cards for consolidation - GB N and S, and two Counties at 1:25k.
Just one week later it was all returned to me.
The unit looked brand new with the four push button replaced, the toggle switch replaced, and the plexiglass cover replaced (and a spare one thrown in for good measure.)
The World Map is really good - much more useful than the old road level base map.
There are also probably some softwware changes that I have not fully discovered yet - the entry screen has changed at least.
The unit now gets a "fix" in less than half the original time.
My only issue was that one of my 1:25k maps was a custom map, not a standard county, and the extra mapping had not been included in the consolidation.
I e-mailed Satmap as soon as I found this out, and got a phone call from them at 09:00 the next working day.
They asked me to send the mapcard back freepost, and they would sort it out by return of post.
It doesn't really get much better then that.
Thanks Satmap.
I have no connection with Satmap, other than being a very happy customer.
