I am using MapSource v6.15.11 with the openstreetmap 'GB+Contours' map.

I am creating a walking route based on footpaths. I have a path going into a car park and a second path leaving the car park but with no path in between these points. How can I get MapSource to join up these two points, which are around 200m apart? At the moment it calculates a route that goes around the paths and roads of several kilometres. Thanks David

Edit...Preferences...Routing...Use Direct Routes.

Then back to the map sidebar, routes tab, Rclick on route name...Recalculate route.

thanks - the challenge is that I need to use 'Auto-Routing' and 'Direct Routes' on the same route that I am creating due to the non joined up paths, e.g. where they cross car parks. I realise that this would not be a problem if I was using proper OS maps but it looks like I will have to live with it with the opensourcemap. I can create separate routes and 'jump' between them. Howsabout .... create the route up to the first problem WP the go to the map panel in the sidebar and deselct the green tick in "Include Route Calculation Data", add the second WP to your route then reselect the tick

Just a theory and of course ETAs etc would not be valid

ps I would like to know more about using Openstreetmap on a GPSR and Mapsource - where do I start reading?
