Mike, can you tell me how you are able to achieve a link to the TT Server for a navcore .cab download? Thanks.

David this is the Tom Tom link for Navcore v8.310 http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/navcore_8.310.9760.go940.cab

I have used it on my 720 since it's release and found the maping was much smoother on the unit and had no voice stuttering issues etc. Plus you get nice new icons to play with Laughing Give it a go but as they say BACK UP FIRST!!!

Thanks batties, I guess I wasn't clear in what I was asking (I suffer that problem alot Sad ).

I'd like to know how users actually get a hold of the link to the download server at TT. I don't actually need the link itself.

There are two ways to get the URL:

The first is to use TomTom Home to download the update for a device which you have connected to the PC, open the resultant .toc file with "NotePad" or similar and you can work out the url path from what is contained in the file.

The second is a little more involved as you have to play a little guessing game as to the exact release format of the file name and the version numbers, its not difficult though to work out - Mike

Question As you use it on your 720, was the transmitter working with the go940.cab?? Question

It has never been possible to use the FM Tx for navigation instructions with a 940, AFAIK if you install x40 software to either an x20 or x30 unit then the FM transmitter doesn't work and neither does the mp3 player - Mike

As always backup the unit BEFORE trying any update/ roll back just in case it goes wrong, to use this software your maps must be version 810 or earlier, if you try running Navcore 8,010 with a version 815 map installed when the device boots up you will get the "No Maps Found" message on the screen.

Idea You can use 825.2159 -2144 -2158 -2167 -2118 maps, they are working with navcore 8.010 Exclamation

You cannot use Navcore 8,010 with the v825.2157 maps that are employed for the x20 and x30 devices, it simply doesn't work - you wouldn't get the IQ-2 Routes feature for a start - Mke

That is true, but 825.2159; 825.2144; 825.2158; 825.2167; 825.2118 and 825.2158 maps are working great with go720 navcore 8.010.9369.

Table removed following discussion with Admin/ Moderators, the general feeling is this advertises/ assists with map piracy and as such is not something we allow - Mike Alder
