pocketgpsworld.comTomTom have today announced an upgrade to V8 of Navcore is now available for ONE XL and ONE 3rd edition.

Whilst Advanced Lane Guidance and IQ Routes is not yet supported, a number of new Mapshare functions do make an appearance and the Custom Car Icon feature is now enabled on all devices.

The upgrade is available via Tomtom HOME and the chart shown below indicates those devices currently compatible. No information is yet available on if/when IQ Routes and ALG will be made available to upgraded devices.

This thread is for discussion of application updates for pre-x30 devices only. For discussion of Navcore 8 updates for x30 devices, see the discussion thread here.

x20 Owners- Please Note:
6 Jun 08: The upgrade package for x20 devices contained the Advanced lane Guidance option in Change preferences. This created the impression that the feature was available when it is not and consequently the x20 version has been withdrawn. An upgrade to Navcore 8 will be made available to x20 users at a later date.

19 Jun 08: Software version 8.010 (build 9369) for x20's has now been re-instated and available for download via HOME.

Thanks for the information.

Can you tell me the significance of the light green vs. the dark green cells?

This will happen when v8 maps will be officialy released for older devices.

Navcore v8 firmware with v7 maps just don't show the new options (iq routing, lanes etc)

Dark green means something like 'this options is default here without any need of upgrade' and means this functionality was designed for particular device from the start.

Light green means device after v8 upgrade.

Dark Green is those features already available, light green indicates the new features available on devices upgraded to v8 and red indicates those features not yet implemented.

As kichu1979 has already said, the IQ Routes and ALG can be expected to appear for x20 devices once a compatible v8 map is installed. These have yet to be announced.

However, as the latest recently announced ONE models DO NOT support IQ routes and ALG even with a v8 map, it is reasonable to assume that all ONE devices will be denied this facility even if a V8 map is installed.

Any news if the 910 will get the new 8 core in the future?

When you say "devices upgraded to v8", do you mean just v8 software or v8 software AND maps?

In other words, do you think my Go720 with v7.15 maps going to support the new MapShare options for example?

EDIT: Also Home is still only offering v7.481 to me. Am I missing something?

At least it's not just me. Maybe we need more patience - not a virtue of mine! Rolling Eyes

I mean devices upgraded to Firmware v8 but I'm going only on what I have been made part to. I don't have a v7 device on which I can test the upgrade.

I'll ask TomTom why the update is not available if it does not appear today!

Hope this helps for those not getting offered it automatically (Thanks to SmartDriver for the links):

1) Is for x20 Devices etc
2) Is for x30, as the filenames imply. No liability accepted, but as you can see, these are TomTom site links.

Now available in HOME.

Installed on my 720. No obvious problems - so far!

Hi could someone help with this. I have a one XL europe and I do not have enough free space on the device to install Navcore 8. What are my options? I thought I would delete some unused voices but I can't find the files.
All the best Steve
