The camera database contains a vide variety of cameras, obviously the main ones are speed cams, but there are also a number of mobile sites, and some red light cameras in there as well.
We are at the mercy of the users who are submitting the information. As such we are unable to check all the submissions for physical cameras or types.
There was a lot of debate in the early days about the inclusion of Red Light Cameras, with the resultant decision being split about 50-50 as to whether they should be included. My personal opinion is that anything that warns you of potential danger (assuming that as the police state the cameras are set up at accident blackspots) then that has to be a good thing. _________________ Mike Barrett

Is there any way of differentiating between the red light cameras and speed cameras (and for that matter bus lane cameras, mobile sites etc) in the database?
I use the Garmin iQue, so convert the csv file to upload it, and I can see nothing in there that will differentiate between the sites. It gets pretty slow with all the cameras in the there so I'd like to strip out the red light and bus cameras if I can.
