I'm afraid that since you have the unit and we don't, you'll need to furnish more information about it before we can help you. You should be looking in the manual for something like "import custom POI (Points of Interest)". If you have a link to a copy of the manual, I'm sure someone will have a look at it for you!

Great manual, covers everything except navigation! Look at http://www.myguidegps.com/ and then click 'Product's. Which one do you have, is it the 3000? If so then your software is iGO.

AIUI iGO does not yet support custom POIs. Although the new software coming soon in v8 will do this won't help you.

I might being a bit thick but surely POI's must be customisable, otherwise how would you update them?

Regards Mark

POIs are split into two seperate types. Those that come pre-installed and are part of the map data i.e. Petrol Stations, Car Parks etc etc and Custom POIs such as our camera database and the many third party POI sets that can now be downloaded.

Not all devices can use Custom POIs. The POI data supplied with the device is normally updated as and when new maps are released/installed.

Thanks for the prompt reply Darren

I posted a reply on Ebuyer as 2 people claim to have loaded custom POI, not sure I believe them after what you've said.

iGO appears on many different platforms and on some it has been customised such as Mio who do have custom POIs so it's not a definite no. Just that in 'most' cases it wasn't implemented!

Hi,
From what I have found out the PMD1400 will take another software called Igo (i think) that does do the speed camera POI, it seems to be the USA/ Canadian version of the PMD1400 ( I think those are the coments we saw on e-buyer). From the e-mails I have had back from Video 7 and Myguide the Myguide software does not support that at the moment as they are concerned about the legallity of including it. I think it might be possible in the future but not right now. Does anyone else know any different?

I did find you can set a warning when you exceed the speed limit. In the setup of the sat nav you set at what speed over the limit the warning is triggered. So if the unit is capable of alerting you of your speed in any given location and monitor the local speed limit its not to great a challenge to include camera locations as POI's. Everyone who has bought a PMD1400 should send an e-mail to myguide to ask for the software to be updated to include the camera positions.
