Just for the record, Daryn the tech support at Satmap advised I simply lock the keypad, which kind-of suggests there isn't any other way to achieve the desired result.

Ha-Ha - just figured it out. You just click and drag the line itself, dropping it on the new point and it creates a new point as a result - neat :-)
