| From the description you need the Garmin Drive app for traffic so a phone is needed, which I suspect is the same for all models ? |

I would say traffic is a must these days. Without it you could drive straight into problems. But, without a phone you have no traffic

I can understand 20mph side streets but the main road also being 20 does seem illogical in a lot of places

No, the latest Honda SatNavs are locked down
You could try a wireless connection but in my e:hev Jazz wireless is a 50/50 whether it connects and if it does it can take up to a minute

It's surprising how many uninstalls leave things behind
Some criticise CCleaner but it does work and isn't heavy on what it removes. Just use the portable version as I mentioned

If so, I would uninstall it again, then download and run CCleaner (portable version only) and run both the cleanup and registry checker to clear out anything left behind.

I just use the Speedo display as I don't want a map either
Once it's fired up, just close the app via the phones bottom square icon/button and it will convert into a floating icon but stay running
