Raytheon wins contract for lightweight GPS AntiJam system
Article by: Darren Griffin Date: 5 Dec 2012
Raytheon, the American defense contractor, has won a UK Ministry of Defence contract for the supply of a new GPS Anti-Jam antenna system.
The contract, for an "undisclosed number of advanced systems for deployment in operational theatres spanning multiple vehicle platforms" is classified as an UOR (Urgent Operational Requirement) but it is not known if the order is in response to a specific threat or for a specific theatre.
Raytheon has a range of anti-jam systems in its product inventory and has supplied the UK armed forces with anti-jam solutions in the past. But this is the first order for their Land GPS Anti-Jam product family and deployment with a mere six months until the completion and delivery of the orders.
