New speed cameras in West Norfolk are due to go live tomorrow after a long wait.

Seven average speed cameras were installed ten months ago on the A17 between Lynn and Sutton Bridge, but the switch-on has been delayed due to a hold up in sourcing power for them.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: "This piece of road has double the national average for casualties on rural A class Roads, and the high accident severity is indicative of high traffic speeds."

They added: "35% of these casualties are motorcyclists and the new cameras are designed to capture both motor vehicles and motor cyclists.”

It has also been announced that more cameras are to come to the West Norfolk area, on the A149 between the Knights Hill and Dersingham roundabouts, later in 2017.
