The first two FOC (Full Operational Capability) Galileo satellites, 'Doresa' and 'Milena' have met for the first time as they are prepared for integration in their side by side dispenser and payload fairing.

The 730kg satellites were named after children who were amongst the winners of a 2011 painting competition.

Doresa and Milena will be placed into orbit atop a Soyuz 'Fregat' launcher on August 21st and will form the first two FOC satellites in the constellation that will form the European operated Galileo navigation system.
