Here's a nice idea for a Christmas present. Ordnance Survey now offer a custom map service allowing you to create your own bespoke OS Explorer or OS Landranger Map.

You can customise it with your own image, title and sub-title and choose to have it delivered as a flat map, ideal for framing or as a folded map.

At £16.99 it's a great idea. Perhaps a map centred on your home, favourite holiday destination or walk?

Super cool! Got all excited then saw this:

We are unable to produce Custom Made maps for The Channel Islands. Evil or Very Mad

Oh well, still a great idea for other locations though! Thanks for the link. Thumbs Up

I bought the both 1:25 and 1:50 and made the slight error of centering the map on my Post Code. This means it is slap bang in the middle of the map, but also means that your home is the section that gets folded and unfolded the most i.e. the bit that wears out first.

Good point Simon, worth remembering!
I reckon the OS should even mention that when you're ordering one....

You can have it delivered as a flat map - how big do they think letter boxes are?
