Average speed camera zones in New South Wales, Australia has witnessed fourteen deaths as a result of speed related car accidents.

There were 34 deaths in total over the zones which cover approximately 726 kilometres.

Twenty five point-to-point camera zones were introduced back in 2010, but NSW is the only Australian state not using this type of camera to catch speeding cars - they are only used to catch trucks.

NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay has stated that it was an election commitment to not use the cameras to catch cars.
