Thousands of speeding drivers have been ticketed by a speed camera in Flintshire, Wales in its first year of operation.
Over 4,500 motorists were caught by the camera which was installed on the A541 at Pontblyddyn - an accident blackspot that has claimed several fatalities in the past.
One driver was caught travelling at 82mph on the 40mph stretch of road.
From those issued a ticket, 28% paid a fine of £100 and received points on their licence, 39% attended a speed awareness course and the rest attended court or are still being processed
A spokeswoman for GoSafe said: "GoSafe would like to emphasise that the camera has been placed at this location in order to reduce collisions and casualties and appeal to the motoring public to respect the speed limits on Welsh roads at all times."
She added: "Cameras are deployed to contribute to casualty reduction and make communities safer – not to generate income. GoSafe is continuing to work with our partners, communities and the general public on education campaigns and training initiatives."
